solar elipse 2012

Loren, Natalie, Elin, Shelby and I watched the solar eclipse tonight.  We used 3 pairs of sunglasses and a bike chain guard, but it worked!!  Here is a link to some pics.  Happy Sunday everyone.

This moment

Natalie was helping me cut up onions for dinner.  They were making her eyes "ouchie" and so she left and came back with her goggles.
"this will help mama"
"Natalie, those are on upside down"
"oh well, that's okay mama, it's just fine"
And yes, pants are optional in my kitchen.  But wine is not.

Mother's day 2012

Happy late mother's Day to all you mama's out there.  On that note here is what I found when I went outside today to get Aiden to get ready for bed.  Isn't he sweet and wonderful??  I love the hugs and kisses!!!  We had a great mother's Day weekend down at my mom's house.
Here is my littlest gift mother's day morning.  The kids made me pictures, and Aiden had made me a dozen straw flowers, a flower and bead necklace, a card that said he loved spending time with me when we fold socks (no really, that's what it said, and that's what he told the teacher to write, I'm telling you, start them young and make it fun and they will do your chores for you!) and he planted me flowers.  So super cute.  His first true surprise gifts for me.
We had a lovely bar-b-q lunch of hamburgers and pasta salad, on paper plates so we wouldn't have to do dishes.  Loren had even come down Saturday afternoon and was there to celebrate with us.  Here are Elin and I after lunch.  It was a beautiful day and what better way to spend it then napping in the shade, listening to the ocean surrounded by family?
After naps and sprinkler fun we had a fire (we had to wait for it to cool down, it's just wrong to have a fire when it's almost 80)
 we made daisy chains
I love LOVE these pictures of my little girl in her daisy chain walking through my mom's Japanese garden.
I love how she's disappearing in this one
Even Nonnie wore the daisy chain, Elin is trying to figure out what is on her head, I have a picture of Uncle Ryan in it too, but I'm a kind person and I'll just keep that one to myself.  For now.  I have a ton of pictures from playing down in the tide pools and playing on the hammock but they are on the small camera and if I wait to post them then who knows how long it will take.  And I have to find the camera.  I think it's in the car.  Maybe tomorrow.  Here's hoping everyone had an amazing mothers day.  I know I did, thanks to my wonderful Mama, and my family.

Right now:

Right now I am:

-Enjoying every single gummy grin before those two teeth start showing up more...
-Smelling my hands every few moments after planting 5 cherry tomatoes and a full sized blue tomato (I just had to, it's blue for goodness sake) Maybe this year I'll get to eat a few more tomatoes.
-walking by the berry garden for a peek more often then I need to.  It's come such a long way in 2 years, its' hard to believe it was just red much and clay when we moved in. (I even added to it this year, honey berries from Japan, can't wait for them to start producing next year)
-serving snack plates and happy to be able to serve them outside on the cutest little picnic table from my mom.  What the puppy doesn't eat, the birds will.  Because who has time for cleaning when there is nice weather to soak up.

-thankful for my MIL and her gardening help, we made one bed wider this weekend and filled out the shade garden more.  It's come a long way too... and it's starting to be one of my favorites.
-eating fresh lettuce every chance I get, and ready to plant some more.
Haa haa!! I got a start, I've blogged, twice today.  Maybe this is a turning point.  We'll see.. now, go enjoy the sun, I know I'm going to!

8 months of picture links in one post

well.. yeah, so I kinda had a busy... um... 8 months? but I'll try to at least post links to pictures here now and then as I know there are some of you out there that miss them (Ryan).  So I had Elin on September 6th... Here are some pictures of that event, nothing R rated mind you.  Then came winter, and solstice and Christmas... and here is a link to those pictures.. Then after Winter comes Spirng.. funny how that happens.  Really I'm just trying to catch up here 8 months is a long time and I see that Blogger has changed and maybe it will be easier to navigate but for now allow me to cheat and use the pictures off facebook!! During spring the Easter Bunny makes his appearance (why is it a he, maybe it's a she?)  Anyway a funny fuzzy bunny comes hopping around delivering eggs and chocolate to good little girls and boys, and always right before or after my (big) little girl has her birthday.  So there. not REALLY caught up but links to pictures to keep people entertained. Enjoy, my window of quiet has ended but hey this is a start, right?
